Shramsanskar Chhaoni, an annual Camp that displays the value of work, is being organized at Maharogi Sewa Samiti, Warora’s ‘Somnath Project’. Established by world-renowned social worker and human rights activist Baba Amte, Maharogi Sewa Samiti, Warora is a non-profit organization in Central India, relentlessly working towards the betterment of stigmatized and marginalized people such as those afflicted with leprosy, hearing & speech impaired, visually challenged, orthopedically challenged and socially & economically backward rural & tribal populace.
Baba Amte always used to say, "Hands should not be used to beg or to kill; but to create." If leprosy afflicted and other physically challenged by mobilizing their hands, intellect and emotions become the contributors to the country, then why will the youth of the country not become so? To find the answer to this question, the Camp has been organized annually since 1968. Those who felt the joy and sorrow of new creation, can never get diverted into any destructive work. The hands which have always been deprived of innovations can easily move towards destruction. Somnath Camp is an attempt to stop the boom of destructive thinking.
